I am using Crystal Reports V10 and I can no longer get the Field Explorer to show up on my screen, therefore, I cannot figure out how to place new fields into existing reports. I click the Field Explorer button on the tool bar and also use the “view” pull down option, but the Field Explorer windows does not appear. Does anybody know how I can get Field Explorer back? |

Great Question! I had to 'lose' mine too in order to try and get it back and I was a little worried there I wouldn't be able to get it back too and thus would have had to reinstall, but I have the solution.
What probably happened (because this is what I intensionally did to make it happen) is you detached your field explorer and then dropped it off the bottom of the screen by accident. Fortunately it's not off the screen but hiding just under your task bar.
Right click your task bar and auto hide it. if you go back to crystal you should now see your field explorer hiding down there. Hope this helps

Thanks for getting back to me. I had thought that might be the problem, but even when I moved my taskbar over to the left has side of my screen and carefully tried to grab the "lost" window... no Field Explorer window.
I tried doing a "reinstall" and even removed Crystal (add/remove programs) and re-installed Crystal and the Field Explorer still does not come back  .
I did an install onto another machine and opened my report to make sure my report did not cause the problem. Field Explorer is working fine on this second machine.
Any ideas on how I can get Field Exploer back on my machine?
Just for the record - Report Explorer does not show up either...
